Executive Functioning Skills Group

Who Should Participate: Adults and college students who struggle with planning, focus, time management, controlling emotions like boredom, frustration, and initiating and completing tasks (personal or academic/occupational). This therapy group is especially helpful for those who live with ADHD, autism, learning differences, and people experiencing high-stress or burnout.

About the Group Therapy Experience:

Executive Functioning (EF) helps us maintain self-control, focus, plan, and navigate the hectic world. Let’s face it, we can get bogged down by the many choices, decisions, and to-dos of every day life. While it may feel impossible, there are practices that help us manage our thoughts, actions, and emotions effectively, reduce thinking overload, and develop daily habits that promote wellbeing.

This supportive, seven-week group will help participants understand the habits, thought patterns, and EF skills that influence productivity, decision-making, and follow-through. Participants will engage in skill-building exercises, discussion, and personalized planning aligned to their individual EF skills assessment.

Discussion topics include: understanding executive functioning, creating goals, planning and decision-making skills, beating procrastination, protecting your time and energy, communicating with others and setting boundaries, sustaining daily practice with mindfulness and self-compassion. Each session will include a mindfulness-based stress reduction exercise and take-home practices. Coffee, tea, and light snacks are provided.
