Open to all adults ages eighteen (18) and older. Our workshops are held in-person at Sweetbay Studio in Gaithersburg.

Why choose in-person therapy?

  • We provide a private, neutral, and distraction-free environment for our clients.

  • Physically showing up for sessions provides a sense of routine and access to interventions and resources that are limited through technology, such as body-centered, mindfulness, and art practices.

  • While online therapy is effective and convenient for many, in-person therapy may offer deeper interpersonal connection, structure, and embodied support that can be especially valuable in certain stages of healing or personal growth.

  • For children and families, in-person therapy allows for screen-free engagement to build communication, focused attention, and trusting relationships.

  • Our in-person clients can still access virtual or tele-health sessions as needed for convenience and to ensure continuity of care.

Using Your Insurance to Pay for Therapy

We accept insurance for payment for therapy services through our partnership with SonderMind. SonderMind therapy can be through tele-health (video) sessions or in person at our Gaithersburg office.

Insurance Accepted: Aetna, Alliance Coal Group Health Plan, Blue Cross Blue Shield, CareFirst, Cigna, Kaiser Permanente, OccuNet, Partners Direct, Sana Benefits Unity Preferred Network, Velocity National Provider Network

Using Out of Network (OON) or HSA/FSA Benefits to Pay for Therapy

Many insurance companies provide reimbursement for out of network (OON) therapy and you may be eligible to use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) benefits to pay for therapy.

Your insurance plan may have out-of-network benefits, which means that they will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost. We have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. With Thrizer, you will only have to pay a copay for our sessions post-deductible, instead of paying our full fee and waiting for reimbursements. This typically allows clients to save on average 70% upfront on our sessions. During our intake process, we can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your copay would be.

Reduced-Rate (Sliding Scale) Therapy Services

We offer limited reduced rate (or sliding scale) treatment slots for individuals and families experiencing financial constraints, such as job loss. We also offer reduced rates through our clinical training program. Advanced clinical trainees are completing their masters level coursework and field training under close supervision of seasoned, independently licensed therapists. To inquire about eligibility and availability for reduced rate services, please call us or use the form below to contact our care team.
