Words for What We Carry - Therapeutic Writing Group (4 sessions)

Dates: May 5, May 19, June 2, and June 16 from 1-2pm

Each session is hybrid; you may participate in-person at our Gaithersburg Wellbeing Studio or virtually.

Investment: $35 per session | Insurance Eligible (we’ll confirm benefits prior to the first session)

A gentle, guided space to explore your inner world through writing. Each session introduces a therapeutic writing practice to help you process emotions, find meaning when closure isn’t possible, and move forward with greater self-compassion. This group series will draw from Narrative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). A brief intake process is required.

  • May 5: Self-Compassion Letters

  • May 19: Cognitive Re-Authoring of My Story

  • June 2: Between Me and Only Me (unsent letters to those who caused us harm)

  • June 16: Therapeutic Journaling Practice

About Your Group Facilitator: Tia Marie Brumsted, LCSW-C, LICSW, NCSSW is a clinical social worker who has practiced in the DMV area for 20 years. She is the owner and lead practitioner at Sweetbay Mental Health.
